How do I cancel my account or dissolve my LLC?
Cancelling your compliance plan is one click. Dissolving the LLC is a state-by-state filing we handle for you.
There are two distinct actions: cancelling your File.Business subscription, and legally dissolving your LLC.
Cancelling your subscription
From the dashboard, go to Settings → Plan and click "Cancel plan." Your access continues through the end of the paid period. Cancellation does not dissolve the LLC; you still owe state annual fees and reports.
Dissolving your LLC
Dissolution requires filing with the state. We handle this as a service: $99 + state dissolution fee (most states are $0-$200). The process: settle outstanding debts, file final tax returns, file Articles of Dissolution, close the EIN with the IRS, close bank accounts.
If you skip dissolution and just stop paying state fees, the LLC eventually goes into administrative dissolution. You may still owe back fees + penalties from before the involuntary dissolution.
